Wright (George) is born in New York City.
January 28, 1847
George Wright and his younger brother Harry come to Boston in 1871 to play for the Boston Red Stockings, which they helped to relocate from Cincinnati, to play the new National Association. Both subsequently elected to the baseball Hall of Fame, the Wrights subsequently opens a popular sporting goods store and George champions the development of golf in Boston. He moves to 24 Grampian Way in 1887. George Wright dies on August 21, 1937 and is buried in Holyhood Cemetery in Brookline.
